Training and Assessment:
Classroom or Car?
Many fleet training providers will use extensive classroom sessions, and various tests and assessments away from the car.
Theoretical knowledge can be an advantage, but a safe attitude is even better.
Long classroom sessions reduce the amount of time in the car actually carrying out the task of driving.
Assessments on a computer, or in a classroom may be misleading.
In the car is reality, so that is the best place to assess driving.
Classroom sessions involve ‘hearing’ and ‘seeing’
The best way of learning is ‘doing’
The best place for ‘doing’ is in the car.
So all of our training is done ‘in car’
The trainer will still cover theoretical aspects of safe driving practice, but it can be done in conjunction with the driving.
Training in this manner enables the trainer to tailor the theoretical side of the training to suit the exact requirements of the driver, rather than a one size fits all approach.
